Main Article Content
Abstract
Environmental awareness is the system of knowledge, experiences, attitudes and values that individuals have towards the environment and can be promoted from an integral and interdisciplinary environmental education. It is necessary to articulate the categorization of the environmental awareness of the educational community from the school environmental project with the design of the subject plans to achieve an environmental approach that guides the educational practice with vocational high school students. The strategy contemplates the optimization of information gathering instruments and the interpretation of the multidimensionality of the environmental awareness of the student population, an analysis of the articulation of the subject plans with the national education guidelines and the integration of environmental education that yields improvement strategies, and finally, the discussion of teachers on the curricular environmentalization within the Ciudad de Ipiales Educational Institution in order to develop environmental awareness from the classrooms. The spiral strategy of reflection - action leads to a practical exercise of construction of an integrated environmental education that allows, from an interdisciplinary approach, the adaptation of the teaching - learning processes towards the development of the environmental awareness of the students.
