Strategies for the Development and Consolidation of Startups in the Colombian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
Main Article Content
Abstract
To foster economic development and innovation in Colombia, it is essential to strengthen its entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this context, startups play a key role by driving job creation, digital transformation, and business competitiveness; however, they face significant challenges related to human talent management, access to financing, and the viability of their business models. The purpose of this study was to propose strategies for the development and consolidation of startups within the Colombian entrepreneurial ecosystem. Methodologically, a quantitative and cross-sectional approach was adopted through the application of a survey to startups from different productive sectors in the country. The findings indicated that 60.4% of startups have participated in programs aimed at acceleration or incubation, which shows that they value specialized support. In addition, collaboration with support networks, talent training, financial management, and innovation were identified as strategic pillars. Based on these findings, a comprehensive model of strategies is suggested to promote capacity building, sustainability, cooperation among ecosystem stakeholders, and digital transformation. The study sheds light on the dynamics of entrepreneurship in Colombia and provides practical guidance for designing policies and actions that enhance the growth of emerging companies and their impact on the country’s economic progress.
